Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully, as you will need to sign the booking form to confirm your acceptance of these, prior to having your pet(s) looked after by Furry Friends Holidays of Hockley.

opening times

We do not have set opening times, as we try to accommodate everyone individually to find mutually convenient times for home visits, drop off and pick ups.

Please note the latest pick up time from Furry Friends Holidays, will be 4pm from October to March and 5pm from April to September. Please telephone, text or email us for further information.

We welcome visits to see our facilities, should you wish to do so. Details can be found on the contact us section of the website.

deposit & payment

We do not currently require a deposit when bookings are made. All bookings are payable in full on arrival for boarding guests, or by 2 days prior to the start for home visits. These are non-refundable. Payments can be made by cash, card or bank transfer.

Charges for boarding will include the drop off and collection days. Should any additional fees be incurred during boarding (e.g. additional days) payment must be paid on the day you return, for home visits or on collection days of your pet(s).

If you are going to collect/return home earlier than the agreed dates, unfortunately the full boarding fees still apply ( subject to our discretion).

vaccinations

All rabbits should be vaccinated with the combined Nobivac vaccine for Myxomatosis and Rabbit (Viral) Hemorrhagic Disease R(V)HD as well as the additional Filavac R(V)HD 2 vaccine. Please bring vaccination certificates with you on arrival as rabbits cannot be accepted without them. This is to protect all rabbits that board in our care.

For home visits we will need to see the certificates on our first initial preparation visit to you. A separate form will be provided which needs to be signed to confirm certificates have been seen.

Please note that no first time vaccinated rabbit(s) can be boarded with us until 2 weeks after vaccinations, this is with the exception of annual boosters.

health

It is very important that you provide us with as much information about your pet’s health at the time of booking. In most cases we will be able to accept him/her for boarding/home visits once we know your pet’s condition and it will not affect the health of others.

If there are any signs of disease, illness or injury when your pet arrives/ is visited and we have not received prior notification, unfortunately we may not be able to accommodate your pet(s), as we need to protect all the animals in our care.

Although our animals will be kept separately (except bonded pairs), we cannot be held responsible for any pet pregnancy or injury while in our care.

An additional fee will be made for administering medication, special cleaning or treatments for your pet(s).This fee will be agreed prior to administering.

We stock Critical Care, which is a food replacement with additional nutrients, that we can give your pet(s) via a syringe, if they stop eating. It is very important for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs to eat regularly otherwise they can develop Gut Stasis, a potentially life threatening illness. We would obviously contact you if we thought administering Critical Care was necessary. A fee of £3 a day will be incurred. This is because Critical Care is expensive to buy, but can save your pet(s) life.

If you decide that you can no longer look after your pet(s) whilst it is in our care, please let us know as soon as possible. If your pet(s) have not been collected within ten days of the collection date, we reserve the right to re-home your pet.

We reserve the right to separate any animals if we feel it is necessary whilst in our care.

illness & death

Should we notice any unusual behaviour from your pet(s) whilst boarding with us, we will contact you on the phone number provided, if we feel it is deemed necessary. We will then seek advice from your vet or ours, whichever you have indicated on the booking form.

If we are unable to contact you and we deem it necessary, we will proceed to seek advice from the vet of your choice.

We will not be responsible for any vet fees. Money must be transferred to cover all fees charged by the appropriate vet in advance, including any consultation fees, medication or any surgery required. By signing our terms and conditions, you hereby agree to meet these costs.

In the unlikely event of a death occurring, we will notify you immediately, and follow your wishes. Any charges incurred through this will be payable by you as above.

Whilst we take every care to ensure that your pet(s) are kept in a clean, safe and healthy environment, we cannot be held responsible in the event of ill health or death occurring whilst boarding with us.

Please note that pets are left entirely at their owners own risk.

We will hold details about yourself and your pet and we will contact you by phone, text, email and Whats App when necessary. These details will only be shared in the event of your pet(s) visiting the vet. We will never knowingly pass on any personal details to anyone else outside Furry Friends Holidays of Hockley.

We may use pictures of your pet (unless otherwise stated on your booking form) on social media.

If for any reason I am not available for your dates, your booking will still be managed by myself, via a responsible third party. You will be informed of this at the earliest opportunity.
